This is not a conflict with

This is not a conflict with all of us that have been working with GPS for 5, 10, 20+ years. The perception is there, not the reality. The ION/IEEE Position Location and Navigation Symposium (PLANS) is in conflict with the GPS Partnership Council in May 2010. This is a technical/ tutorial event each year and an outstanding opportunity to get technically smart on civilian and commercial applications. The GPS Partnership Council is not a technical forum. It is an opportunity to discuss policy as a national asset, review the latest developments of the system with council members, and generate discussions for improving the system for US/allied warfighters. The GPS Partnership Council is also in conflict with other GPS meetings with other nations and services during this timeframe that are very much focus to their unique charter or purpose for discussions of GPS. If you are involved in GPS, you will always need to make a choice on what you support because of the applications and complexity of this system since it benefits so much …the warfighter, the nation, the world. jb

As the CTO of my company, I need to be up on both aspects - policy and technical, so it is a conflict.

Scheduling this at the same

Scheduling this at the same time as ION/IEEE PLANS just is another example of how little appreciation there is in the GPS Wing for all the support they've gotten from the ION over the past 40 years. But since they've also slighted JNC , I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

10th Anniversary - that's

10th Anniversary - that's great! But it's too bad it overlaps with the big PLANS (ION/IEEE) symposium on the same dates at Palm Springs.

Blending commercial and

Blending commercial and military technology and best practices for the future.
