Colonel Scott W. Beidleman is the Director, Development, Planning, Space and Missle Systems (SMC) Los Angeles Air Force Base, California. As director, the colonel is responsible to the Commander of SMC for the planning of future space and missile missions across the Center. His Directorate develops new materiel concepts to satisfy requirements provided by Headquarters Air Force Space Command. He directs an SMC modeling and simulation capability to assess the performance of these concepts. He is also responsible for the planning process for technology investment needs across the Center, and conducting project demonstrations.

Colonel Michael D. Sarchet is the Chief, Protected Satellite Communications Division, Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, CA. He is the Deputy Program Manager for the $9.9B Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) space program. The AEHF system will provide secure, survivable, jam-resistant communications service for the National Command Authority and Combatant Commanders to command and control strategic and tactical forces in all levels of conflict, including nuclear war. AEHF will be the protected backbone of DoD’s MILSATCOM architecture.
