Colonel Don Robbins is responsible for the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) Program and the Defense Satellite Communication System (DSCS) Program with over .3B worth of satellite systems in production and on-orbit that provide critical wideband communications in support of national defense strategic and tactical needs. While in the MCSW and prior to becoming the Wideband SATCOM Group Commander, he was the Chief Engineer, MILSATCOM Systems Wing.

The why and how of cyber security.
With the increased interest in cyber warfare and need for cyber security to protect the Global Information Grid (GIG), this is a timely topic. Since data generated by space assets is transmitted to warfighters through the GIG by space assets, cyber security is absolutely essential. Without this security, the warfighters would not get the information our systems generate and transmit.
Herb Kelsey has over 20 years of experience deploying technology for commercial and government customers. He has provided engineering support for graphical simulation, radar, sonar and imagery analysis, as well as architecture definitions for large scale commercial and government enterprises. Since 2002 Herb has focused his efforts on the needs of the DOD and Intelligence Community, working on a variety of technical efforts to include NGA’s infrastructure transformation, the NextView commercial imagery program, The TTIC operational watch and serving as the Chief Architect for a DOD Agency’s Lead System Integrator program.

Joe Vanderpoorten is currently the director for the Transformational Satellite Communications System (TSAT) Mission Operations Group of the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Wing (MCSW), Los Angeles Air Force Base, California. Vanderpoorten serves as the program manager for the TSAT Mission Operations System (TMOS).
